Renae is what I consider to be one of my best friends! I have only known her a couple of years, but I feel like I’ve known her for much longer. I have had the joy of getting to watch her grow over the years in to the beautiful and Godly woman she is today!
I met Renae two summers ago, when we worked at Cooperstown Bible Camp together for the first time. We got to know each other right away and became friends fast. We shared our testimonies with each other within the first week of Staff Training and talked for a few hours while doing that. The closer we got over the summer the more we shared with each other. I was always surprised by the fact that she still wanted to be my friend no matter what I shared with her. I regret not getting to spend more time with her that summer.
After that summer we still talked occasionally and she was always willing to listen and offered prayer for me when I needed it. She was even there for me when I broke up with my boyfriend in the spring. She called me as soon as she found out that it had happened to make sure that I was doing all right. She was was always right there when I needed her to be.
Last summer I got the joy of co-counseling with her for a week. And this summer I got to spend almost the entire summer being her cabin buddy. I have so enjoyed getting to spend more time with her. She is so amazing and I love that she is always willing to listen and pray. I am so proud of how much she has grown and the woman she has become.
A word from Renae:
Through the past three years, Laura and I went from barely acquaintances to really close friends. It has been really cool to watch our friendship grow. In any friendship, I believe it’s really important to not only open up, but also to listen. God calls us to be the body of Christ, depending on one another. Sometimes that means putting aside our own wants to be there for our brothers and sisters in Christ. So I encourage you to encourage others and build each other up.
With Love,
Laura & Renae
